Mediation Program Coordinator

Full-Time Exempt Position

Job Summary
 

The Mediation Program Coordinator is responsible for conducting intakes and scheduling and coordinating mediations and volunteer mediators to fulfill mediation requests in a timely manner.

Intake Coordinator

● Conduct phone intakes from self-referrals and partner referrals

● Conduct in- person intakes

● Manage all verbal and written follow-up to participants timely and until mediation completion

● Schedule and confirm mediation cases including planning (dates, times, locations)

● Assign mediators and observers to cases

● Track and maintain case files (hard copy and Insightly data system)

● Maintain the mediation and event calendar and updates as appropriate

● Coordinates District Court and State’s Attorney cases with potential participants

AmeriCorps and Volunteer Coordination

● Provide feedback and ongoing training to AmeriCorps staff

● Willing to mentor new staff and volunteers

● Coordinate weekly case-file review with AmeriCorps staff and other staff

● Maintain regular contact with volunteers regarding their schedules and availability, skill development and progress

● Work with Executive Director to determine ongoing training needs, in service requests, etc. for volunteers

Administrative & Reporting

● Attend weekly staff meetings

● Report mediation case and new case referral status with Executive Director and other staff at weekly meetings and upon request

● Maintain communication with TCM re-entry partners, States Attorney and District Court staff

● Willing to serve and collaborate with other community agencies/partners and other Maryland community mediation centers

● Helps to coordinate training programs both on and off site and assist with set-up and other needs

● Helps to maintain training materials, mediation forms and all other software or hard copy materials

● Helps to facilitate and conduct informational presentations

● Helps with One Stop Events and other community engagement events to promote Center services

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Qualifications

 High School diploma required

 Associate / bachelor’s degree preferred

 Two – four years experience in conflict resolution, mediation preferred

· Excellent communication / phone skills

 Previous community relations experience

 Proficient in basic computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Drive

  Multi-lingual preferred

 Bi-lingual Required (Spanish or Haitian Creole)

Other Requirements

● Full Time / On-site position 40 hours Monday-Friday

● Basic Mediation Training (BMT) completed within 60 days of hire

● Willing and available to serve as a volunteer mediator once BMT is completed

● Continued skill development by attending advance trainings (additional Intake Training required)

● Some weekend and evening hours required

● Some travel required

Salary: $40,000; plus benefits.

 

This is an on-site position with some weekends/evenings required.
